Agostino Iacurci

Agostino Iacurci (Foggia, 1986) is one of the most promising artists on the international Urban Art scene. In his works of synthetic forms and bright colours, through an essential language, he is capable of driving multiple layers of interpretation. A cynical and intelligent irony positions Agostino’s tales on the perennial threshold between innocence and artifice, serenity and catastrophe, in a magnetic tension that is the interpretive key to our very existence. His works explore the delicate and complex symbioses that are triggered by seemingly simple actions. Extremity, hazard, devotion, impermanence, and obsession are just a just a few of the myriad ingredients of play that have profound parallels in the creative processes of artistic production.

He has developed collaborations with important international brands including Adidas, Apple, Starbucks, TBWA, Urban Outfitters, Warby Parker. In 2019, he was the recipient of Premio New York (2019/20) promoted by MiBACT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Italian Cultural Insti tute of New York, Italian Academy – Columbia University and ISCP.

Iacurci’s recent solo exhibitions include: Tracing Vitruvio, Musei Civici, Pesaro (2019); Gypsoteca, M77 Gallery, Milano (2018); Trompe l’oeil, Celaya Brothers Gallery, Mexico City (2017). Of particular importance is his participation to Le M.U.R (rue Oberkampf) and the Tour 13 in Paris, and his selection to the Farnesina Collection in 2014.Amongst the recent group shows: Talent Prize 2019, Mattatoio, Roma (2019); Graffiare il presente, Casa Testori, Novate Milanese (2018); Urban Art Biennale, Völkinger Hütte, European Centre for Art and Industrial Culture (2017); Cross the streets, Museo Macro Rome (2017).
