OPENING pARTy

The event refers to the poetics of Wunderkammern, open as it is to the local area and to the international aspects of the artists brought into play. A conceptual opening to the dialectic exchange between the privacy of the residence that hosts the works, the exhibitionism of the artist, and the cultural voyeurism of the visitor or cultured passer-by, together with the corollaries that spring there from with regard to Image Rights.

To emphasise these themes of Wunderkammern, president Franco Ottavianelli points out that a formerly obstructed window has been chosen as an icon for communicating the event: a blocked window which is silhouetted against an immense blind wall, whose many-layered construction is clearly visible, forming a backdrop to the garden of the Rome venue. A deliberate allusion to the Fenestella in Spello which, over the years, has been an intermediary between the inside and the out, the ordinary and the extra-ordinary, openness and privacy. A dialogue which will also carry over into 124, Via Gabrio Serbelloni, continuing the traditional "visibility limited by time and space".

OPENING pARTy

L'evento fa riferimento alla poetica di Wunderkammern aperta al territorio e all’internazionalità degli artisti in gioco. Un opening concettuale, come apertura al confronto dialettico tra la privacy dell’abitazione che accoglie le opere, l’esibizionismo dell’artista e il voyeurismo culturale del visitatore o del passante colto, con i corollari che ne scaturiscono in relazione al Diritto all’Immagine.

A sottolineare queste tematiche di Wunderkammern, il presidente Franco Ottavianelli evidenzia che è stata scelta come icona della comunicazione dell’evento una ex-finestra occlusa, che si staglia sull’immenso muro cieco a più stratificazioni edilizie a vista che fa da sfondo al giardino della sede romana. Un voluto richiamo alla Fenestella spellana che negli anni ha fatto da tramite tra l’interno e l’esterno, tra ordinario e straordinario, tra apertura e privacy. Un dialogo che continuerà anche in via Gabrio Serbelloni 124, continuando la tradizionale "visibilità limitata dal tempo e dallo spazio".

WORKS

The artist Raul Gabriel will present "LATERAL (beauty is a sidewhore eatin my liver out)", a video installation with one of his genetically modified traffic lights as the theme. Sudden revelations. Other roads, alleyways of thought, suburban theatre. No justification, no motivation... Lateral,existence. in fact.

The performance "C'era una volta" (Once upon a time) by Myriam Laplante is a troubled fairytale with a video background, in the Lanterna Magika style. The video background, created with Felice Farina, is an allegory of time passing. The artist attempts to disrupt the two basic elements of the fairytale and time, overthrowing the canons. And there is no happy ending.

Adele Lotito usually captures smoke pictorially and opens up journeys of meaning in her storylines. In this installation, the flying carpets rest on real carpets, waiting to fly away on a journey between east and west, between chance and necessity, between body and spirit.

Sukran Moral exhibits the photo-documents of the theatre performance, "Turban", produced three months ago in the Museo Laboratorio at La Sapienza university in Rome. A real "putting truth into practice", where three actors perform in a scene of childhood initiation into the social rules of sexual excision and enforced use of the veil: the little girl, the mother who will then stone her, the imposed husband.

Maria Grazia Pontorno exhibits her video installation project "Il giardino di Maresa" (The garden of Maresa): a virtual hortus conclusus created with the help of 3D effects. The synthesis images, in the form of a digital fresco, show the passages of light, the slow swaying of shrubs in the wind, coloured berries, the studied architectonic composition of vegetation.

L'artista Raul Gabriel presenterà "LATERAL (beauty is a sidewhore eatin my liver out)", un'installazione video con a tema uno dei suoi semafori geneticamente modificati. Rivelazioni improvvise. Strade altre, vicoli del pensiero, teatro suburbano. Nessuna giustificazione, nessuna motivazione... Esistenza,laterale. appunto.

La performance "C'era una volta" di Myriam Laplante è una fiaba travagliata con fondale video, alla Lanterna Magika. Il fondale video, realizzato con Felice Farina, è un'allegoria del tempo che passa. L'artista tenta di sconvolgere i due elementi di base della fiaba e del tempo, di sovvertirne i canoni. E non c'è il lieto fine.

Adele Lotito usa catturare il fumo pittoricamente e aprire nelle sue trame itinerari di senso. In questa installazione i tappeti volanti riposano su veri tappeti, in attesa di spiccare il volo in un viaggio tra occidente ed oriente, fra caso e necessità, fra corpo e spirito.

Sukran Moral espone le foto documento della performance drammatica "Turban" realizzata tre mesi fa al Museo Laboratorio della Sapienza di Roma. Una vera e propria "messa in opera della verità", in cui mostra i tre attori di una scena di iniziazione infantile alle regole sociali di escissione sessuale e di coazione al velo: la bambina, la madre che poi la lapiderà, il marito imposto.

Maria Grazia Pontorno mostra il suo progetto di installazione video "Il giardino di Maresa": un hortus conclusus virtuale realizzato con l'ausilio del 3d. Le immagini di sintesi, in forma di affresco digitale, mostrano i passaggi di luce, il lento ondeggiare degli arbusti al vento, le bacche colorate, la studiata composizione architettonica della vegetazione.
